The Miami Marlins are a member of the Eastern Division of MLB's National League. The team started playing during the 1993 season as the Florida Marlins. They played home games from 1993 to 2011 at Sun Life Stadium, which they shared with the Miami Dolphins. Ever since the 2012 season, they have held their games at Marlins Park in downtown Miami, on the site of the former Orange Bowl in Little Havana, Florida.

The Marlins have the honorable distinction of winning a World Series championship every year that they qualified, defeating the Cleveland Indians in1997 and the New York Yankees in 2003.
