Hurricane season is here again, and it lasts from June 1 – November 30. The Comfort Suites Miami Hotel would like you to know that you are entirely safe when you stay with us. Our sound resistant and hurricane safe Miami hotel features reinforced exterior and interior concrete walls, along with full power backup through a natural gas generator, which can provide air conditioning and electricity throughout our entire Miami hotel.

Our hotel in Miami received a letter from FEMA near the end of last year’s hurricane season that congratulated the hotel staff for their organization, benevolence and compassion during Hurricane Irma. You can read the FEMA letter below and feel reassured this summer when you spend the night at our hurricane proof hotel in Miami.

2018 Hurricane Forecast

According to an updated seasonal outlook released by The Weather Company, the 2018 Atlantic hurricane season is expected to feature a near-average number of hurricanes and tropical storms. The Weather Company expects 12 named storms during the season, including five minor hurricanes and two major hurricanes of Category 3 or higher intensity. The good news is that they compared sea-surface temperature anomalies for inactive vs. active hurricane seasons and found that the current pattern more closely resembles inactive hurricane seasons.
