The building is the sixth MLB stadium to have a retractable roof. With a seating capacity of 37,442, it’s the third-smallest stadium in Major League Baseball by official capacity. Marlins Park was also LEED certified as the greenest MLB park in 2012.

The Miami Marlins started playing during the 1993 season as the Florida Marlins. The Miami Marlins played home games from 1993 to 2011 at Sun Life Stadium, which they shared with the Miami Dolphins. Ever since the 2012 season, the Miami Marlins have held their games at Marlins Park.

The Miami Marlins are a member of the Eastern Division of MLB's National League. The team started playing during the 1993 season as the Florida Marlins.
